Where it began
From as early as I can remember I have made things , I can recall at around the age of four sitting in a pile of timber off cuts at job sites with my father hammer in hand banging in nails every which way and being the youngest of three boys was often blamed for dismantling things to see how they worked not always succeeding in the re-assembly side of things (though looking back I think I may have been the scape goat on a few occasions).
A move out of town at the age of eight saw a jump into cubby and tree houses , bow and arrows , billy carts and bmx bikes .
Secondary school saw a jump in interest in a variety of materials with a enthusiasm in everything hands on timberwork , metalwork , pottery ,mechanics .Year 11 came and went and I entered into year 12 in august ( 1984 ) I had an opportunity to do a pre apprentaship in carpentry and joinery which I took up , it was a four month course ,8 students in the class 4 already indentured to employers .At the three month point an employer contacted tafe wanting an apprentice to start in the new year but only wanted the person with the best results ! Trade school was an easy place for me to be , even being told to help the other lads to finish their projects.
So I started my apprentaship in February 1985 and took to it like a duck to water , my employer did a variety of work ,new homes , renovations , extensions , home maintenance and never afraid to tackle things that were a challenge , turning horse stables into weekenders , old sheds into cellar door sales .
5 years later I left my boss and went subcontracting and obtaining my own building licence and since then have had a go at what ever came along , supervision for building companies , straw bale homes, post and beam homes from recycled timbers , extensions , renovations , bathrooms , kitchens and bespoke furniture .
Over the last few years I have started making more bits and pieces out of my shed and enjoy the freedom to build items without worrying about rules and regulations and I feel the freedom of my shed " Studio-134" is the way for me to go forward.

Dean Robinson is one of Shepparton’s most talented builders. Dean was able to produce a stunning set for our recent production of Westside Story from a single image I presented him with. As a director with so much to think about it is such a relief to be able to hand the job over to Dean and know it will be done to the highest of standards on time and exactly as you had envisioned. I cannot praise or recommend Dean highly enough.
